November 6-7, 2015 The Charles H. McClenahan Memorial Reef
The Charles H. McClenahan Memorial Reef, colloquially referred to as “Mac’s Reef,” honors the legacy of a longstanding Okaloosa County resident who dedicated 50 years of his life to honorably serving his Country working for the Department of Defense. Mac’s work at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) included among many other things developing technologies to defeat concrete targets, which contributed to the generation of the concrete material used by Okaloosa County to construct the artificial reef named in his honor. This artificial reef is made up of concrete target material from Eglin AFB, as well as concrete culverts and other materials.

August 7, 2012 Aquatic Life Ecosystem (ALE) Reef - Deployed by Okaloosa County
The Okaloosa County Artificial Reef Program through Okaloosa County Public Works, deployed Okaloosa County's newest artificial reef network - the ALE Reef. The ALE Reef artificial reef network consists of 40 pre-fabricated concrete structures deployed in Large Area Artificial Reef Site A in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 22 nautical miles on a bearing of 151 degrees from Destin Pass at a depth of approximately 125 feet. The following is a list of coordinates for each individual reef module deployed. The centerpoint contains a cluster of eight reef modules.
