Meet the Deputy County Administrator Kay Godwin

Kay Godwin was appointed as Deputy County Administrator for Okaloosa County in March 2015. Her areas of responsibility include a broad range of operational and administrative activities of the county with a focus on central services including: human resources, risk management, purchasing, compliance, policies and budget; veterans’ services; county extension; and through overall county reorganization in 2015, court services and corrections.
 
Godwin, a third generation native of Okaloosa County, was the Director of the Okaloosa County Human Resources Department from October 2005 to March 2015 and has been affiliated with county government for over 33 years. She holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources and Certified Public Manager designations, is a past board member of the Emerald Coast Society of Human Resources Management, a founding board member of the Northwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Society of Certified Public Managers, and a mentor with the Take Stock in Children program for a number of years.
 
Godwin, a Northwest Florida State College alumnus, received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Administration from St. Leo College and her Master of Public Administration degree from Troy State University.
